It's jubilation time for the Indian animation and VFX industry on this historic occasion when animation and VFX done on the holy Indian soil got the highest ever recognition in the industry, The one and only Oscar for the work done for "The golden compass". The R&H India facility worked hand in hand with their counterparts in LA and they stood up to quality standards and volume of work that was done in US. Thus as we prove our credibility to the world we are thankful that a company like R&H has shown trust in the Indian artistry to be a part of their rich heritage. The task was not easy for R&H as they had to hold their ground against ILM for their work in Transformers and Pirates of Caribbeans. But all's well that ends well now as we have the Oscar in our hand an award which has been long overdue for a company like R&H. The picture below shows John Hughes president and founder of Rhythm & Hues Studios and Bill Westenhofer Visual effect supervisor from Rhythm & Hues on 'The golden compass'.

The Golden compass is finally out and making headlines through out the world after being nominated for Oscars. We all went together to view it in theaters few days back in Hyderabad. Though the storyline was disappointing , we thoroughly enjoyed the out come of our hard work when it showed up on big screen as Special effects. The CG demons looked adorable with their fur on , lit and comped perfectly to merge into the live-action world. We all cheered at our achievements. It was truly rewarding to work for a film so highly acclaimed for its special effects.We faced a varying amount of challenges while working for the movie which has been discussed by our mentors in an article in CG Tantra.

At last the last shots of Golden Compass roll out of Animation , Now its all about waiting to view the movie on screen in December . We had a wonderful time animating the daemons for the movie , This is my second attempt to achieve super realistic animal motion in my animation. Over all an excellent experience with supervisors and colleagues at the Mumbai facility. Probably by the next couple of months we shall be off to Hyderabad to populate the brand new Facility in Hitec City. Back to my old base , but will miss all the friends i made here.

Well Finally I got to Render out my shots this weekend . I uploaded the shots at Photobucket but somehow the sound is a bit offset ed after upload, So the lipsync might seem weird , SO kindly bear with that till I Find out how to sort that Problem out.

Madtrix Reloaded is my latest endevour to derive some pure fun out of the work which I do, ie. Animate. Good thing about Animation is the constant excitement and adrenalin during productions which is also the flip side of it. The seven years in the industry has taught me to deal with it much smarter. The key is 'Work For the sake of work' , Coming into the industry for me was based on purely fun reasons. Never visualized myself tied to a desk doing accounts and management. So it is important to hold the idea in place that the excitement is purely for fun reasons keeping at bay all other worldly ambitions.This provides me with the calm as well as the determination to succeed in pushing the creative boundaries.
So what is 'Madtrix Reloaded' Well I was just having some fun with Neo, scaring the shit out of him, messing up is composure. Will post the first pass of my work soon , Hope u guys enjoy...
